Genetic Roulette – Avoid Dangers of Genetically Modified Foods

I was notified that Dr. Oz told his audience this past week that there is no need to consume organic food.  The only reason he would tell people this is because he has not done his research.  Jeffrey Smith has researched Genetically Modified (GM) food for years now.  After writing numerous books on the subject and producing numerous movies, he recently created the incredible movie called “Genetic Roulette.”  Dr. Mercola and a host of other medical doctors and scientists endorse this movie. I implore you to watch it and become informed on this important issue.  It is 1.5 hours long and the most informative material I have seen on this subject.  After the first 15 minutes, it gets really interesting so please remain patient…

What are the consequences of GM food?

The sales of products with GM free labels have increased from 348 million to 1.5 billion in the United States because the research on the horrific effects of genetic modification on the human population is becoming known.  The movie talks about and provides numerous studies on the link between GM foods and increased sickness, infertility, miscarriages, birth defects, autism, conditions and diseases caused from inflammation and weakened immune systems (allergies, hypothyroidism, Parkinsons, cancer etc.) in North America.

Why does GM food affect children more than adults?

GM foods affect children far more than adults because children metabolize food faster, are growing rapidly, require more nutrition and their smaller bodies are far more sensitive to toxins than adult bodies.  In addition, children do not have the good bacteria or digestive enzymes that adults have to counteract the damage caused by GM foods.

What are the GM foods? (Remember that there are all sorts of GM by-products as well).

  • Corn
  • Soy
  • Meat
  • Dairy products
  • Cottonseed Oil
  • Canola Oil
  • Rice
  • Sugar
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchini
  • Peas
  • Potatoes
  • Papaya

How can we avoid GM food?

  1. Become informed by watching this movie or reading the number of books out on the subject.
  2. Buy organic fruits, vegetables and products. The sticker on organic produce has 5 digits, the first of which is always a 9.  The sticker for GM produce has 5 digits, the first of which is an 8.
  3.  Purchase products that say non GM or GM free or non GMO project verified.
  4. Shop locally
  5. Buy whole foods that you can cook and prepare yourself as opposed to processed foods.

And please pass this information onto other families.  It is extremely important that we do our part to spread the word on this huge contributor to the sickness we are seeing in today’s children.

My wife and I attended the Toronto Home Health Show Weekend of Apr 6 and attended the screening of Jeffrey Smith’s Genetic Roulette and were totally absorbed by the contents of the movie and have become converts and agree on the dangers of GMO’s and importance of rigorous testing of Genetic Engineering. We also support the labeling of food products that we eat.

Your post about the impact of genetically modified (GM) foods and the importance of organic choices is both enlightening and urgent. It’s commendable how you’ve highlighted the significance of informed choices in our diets, especially concerning the health of our children. The detailed information about GM foods, their potential risks, and practical tips to avoid them are invaluable. Your encouragement to watch “Genetic Roulette” adds weight to the discussion, emphasizing the need for awareness and education in these matters.
